ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…
Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated as OCIA) is the process through which interested adults and older children are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. This process is also intended for adults who have not yet received Confirmation or First Communion
The OICA is a communal process and involves a series of stages marked by liturgical rites to guide and assist the prospective convert toward the final rite, usually the Easter Vigil, at which time they will become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The entire process lasts several months (ideally a full liturgical year), but participants are generally invited to proceed at a pace that suits them individually. The Church prefers to call this a process rather than a program.
At St. Turibius we offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the easter vigil (March 27, 2027).
You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions,
your insights, and your faith story.
